In-Kind Donations
In-Kind Gifts
You may have items you no longer need in your home or business that may be a valuable asset for one of our programs. Please view our PHP Wish List to see what items we need to help us serve our clients better. It is our hope that people in the community who see this list might be able to help.
Donate Items to the Thrift Store
Donations of clothing for adults, children and babies, household items, furniture, lamps, electronic equipment, books and other miscellaneous items that are in good condition and can be resold are welcomed at the PHP Thrift Store. The items in the Thrift Store may be used to help a family in need or are resold to the public to support PHP’s programs and to provide basic necessities for families served by PHP.
Click here or call (805) 686-0295 for more information about donations, store polices, hours of operation.
Donate Food
PHP furnishes over 280,000 pounds of food each year to those in need. We also maintain a small food pantry in our Service Center for emergency needs. The viability of this program depends upon receiving donations from individuals, businesses and charitable groups, especially during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons, when the demand for food increases dramatically.
PHP maintains a facility to store canned goods year-round so donations of non-perishable items can be made at any time. Since we are unable to refrigerate donations, delivery or pick-up of perishable items such as fruit, vegetables, dairy or frozen goods must be coordinated with the Food Program Coordinator.
To make a donation of food or a food gift certificate, contact Victor Gonzalez, Food Program Coordinator, at 805-686-0295 or victor@syvphp.org or bring your non-perishable donation to 545 N. Alisal Road, Suite 102, Solvang, CA 93463.
Donate Christmas Gifts
For over 20 years, PHP has operated the Fulfill-A-Wish Christmas Program, which furnishes $20,000 worth of toys, gifts and clothing to those most in need at the holidays. In order to avoid duplication, PHP partners with the Marine Corps Reserve’s “Toys for Tots” and is the distribution channel for toys donated and collected in the valley. Donated items together with items purchased with contributions are displayed in a holiday “boutique” opened and operated two-three days just prior to the holiday in a donated retail space. Families are selected based upon economic need and parents are allowed to select items based upon the size and needs of their family. In this way we hope to maintain the dignity of families and empower parents as much as possible. Volunteers decorate, stock, and operate the boutique under the supervision of PHP staff. You can help by donating a toy or other item from the Christmas Wish List.
