Francisca Escobar has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors of Santa Ynez Valley People Helping People. Dr. Escobar, earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from U.C.S.B., and is currently a teacher with the Goleta Union School District where she has served for 25 years. She has taught 2nd-6th grades and currently is the Learning Center teacher working with students from kindergarten through 6th grade.
Dr. Escobar has numerous publications to her credit, has conducted and presented at numerous workshops, and has been a frequent member of workshop panels. She is active in community groups including the Democratic Women of Santa Barbara County, National Charity League, Solvang Triathlon Club, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Santa Ynez High School PTSA and Band Boosters.
Francisca is a California native and she, her husband and daughter now reside in Buellton where they have lived for 17 years.
Founded in 1992, PHP is a non-profit charity serving the Santa Ynez Valley, Los Alamos Valley, and the Gaviota Coast. PHP’s mission is to “improve the lives of men, women, and children by addressing emergency and basic needs and furnishing comprehensive integrated family and individual support services.”
