On Saturday evening August 21st Liz and Jerry Fiore hosted 150 of their Friends and Friends of Friends for a wine tasting and dinner featuring 10 chefs and 14 wineries. The occasion was a benefit for People Helping People and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. PHP hosts such events and as an amateur oenophile, I attend many others. I would not be exaggerating by saying that the Fiore’s produced one of the most outstanding of such events that I have attended. This was a beautiful setting and a gorgeous evening attended by a wonderful and knowledgeable crowd from the valley, Santa Barbara, and places south. The appetizers, accompanying wine tasting, dinner and desserts were outstanding. Kim and I were extremely privileged to have attended and certainly proud that PHP was chosen to benefit.
