Vino De Suenos Event Nov 12th Aids Vineyard, Farm Workers

This Saturday, November 12,  we will hold our 3rd annual Vino De Suenos Wine Release Celebration, a fundraising event for Valley’s vineyard and farm workers. Proceeds from the event provide vineyard and farm workers and their families the assistance they need during difficult economic times. PHP administers the funds to furnish basic needs (food, rent, and utility assistance) and family support services (counseling, youth after school programs, parent education, and scholarships).

Through these services we aim to make a difference in the lives of vineyard and farm workers who are at the very heart of the County’s agricultural economy and more specifically, the vineyard and wine businesses. In 2009 wine grape production was valued at  $137 Million making it the  #3 crop in the county. Wine production was valued at over $900 Million. Despite the enormous contribution the farm workers make to crop and wine production in the county, many are still living below poverty levels.  Through fundraising events such as Vino De Suenos, PHP has been able to help these workers and their families and last year provided over $90,000 in services to 25 workers and 265 children.

The Vino De Suenos (Wine of Dreams) event features wines donated by Valley vintners and labeled under PHP’s Vino De Suenos brand name. Each bottle has a unique label, created by Uva Design Studios, and is based upon an original art  work donated to PHP.

The event includes wine tasting, wine sales and a silent auction of the original label art and hand-painted wine bottles.  This year we’ve added additional lifestyle items including:

• Luxury condo stays in Costa Rica and Hawaii including airfare
• An all-inclusive family pass to Disneyland
• Dinner and select wines for 12 at Foxen Canyon Vineyards prepared by winemaker Bill Walthamrica
• Luncheon and private blending and labeling ( with help from Uva Designs)  of four cases of wines
